Stanmore Road - safety improvements

What

We are installing feature pavers, lighting and undertaking minor footpath modifications to improve the safety of the recently installed street upgrade. At the same time we will be undertaking minor line marking modifications and fixing a fault in the cycleway detector loops on Worcester Street to improve the current road lay-out and intersection functionality.

To improve on the safety of the recently installed street upgrade.

Stanmore Road (Hereford Street to Gloucester Street), Linwood

7 October 2024 to 13 October 2024. Monday to Sunday, 7am to 5:30pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

  • During this work, there will be a no exit at the Stanmore Road / Worcester Street Intersection for traffic travelling eastbound on Worcester Street.
  • Pedestrian access to footpaths will be impacted at times, however, access will be maintained to businesses and detours will be in place where necessary. Please follow the signage.
  •  Speed will be reduced to 30km/h through the work area.
  •  There will be increased noise, dust, and vibration from the use of machinery for activities such as saw cutting, and plate compaction.
  • We will keep work areas small where possible and road cones will indicate where parking will not be available.
  •  Please let us know if you have any specific property access needs e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or planned works.
