Details

This significant wastewater upgrade will be carried out in three stages, with some overlap in the timing of the stages.

Stage One

Minor site works will begin at the end of August. The first stage of work will start in early September and includes work on Clyde and Creyke Roads. It is expected to be completed by December 2025. Works include:

  • Pumping water from below the ground to allow for trenching and excavation works
  • Trenching and excavation works
  • Installation of new pipes
  • Road sealing

Traffic impacts

There will be traffic management in place while the work is being completed, including shoulder and lane closures, one-way systems and the temporary removal of on-street parking. We will update you about any changes as the project progresses.

Traffic will flow north one-way on Clyde Road during Stage One. There will also be works on the west end of Creyke Road with the traffic flowing in the west direction only. Detours will be in place for affected traffic along Ilam and Riccarton Roads. A 30km/h speed limit will be in place so we can keep our workers and everyone safe.

Sign posted detours will be in place. Please follow the signage and keep an eye out for changes in traffic management.

Stages Two and Three

Further stages will follow and we will update affected residents and businesses about these as work is scheduled to begin.

Information for residents and businesses

  • Diversions and traffic management will be in place. Careful planning has been undertaken to minimise disruption where possible.
  • Water services and power will be maintained.
  • Bins should be put out as usual.
  • Any changes to bus routes will be shown with signage. For information on bus routes, visit metroinfo.co.nz
  • Driveway access to properties will be maintained. However, we may need to work in front of driveways at times. We will try and give you plenty of notice for this. However, if you need to get in and out of your property and we are in your way, please just talk to one of the Dormer Construction staff members and they will make sure you can use your driveway.
  • There will be increased construction noise and vibration at times, and we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.
