We are continuing work at the recently upgraded railway level crossing on Barnes Road, as part of the construction of the Northern Line Cycleway. This work focuses on constructing connections between the railway crossing and the new sections of cycleway, south (completed) and north (under construction) of Barnes Road. |

Details
What are we doing?
- We are constructing a shared path cycleway through the rail corridor between Tuckers Road and Sturrocks Road and between Barnes Road and Main North Road. The section through Barnes Reserve (which connects Sturrocks Road to Barnes Road) is already complete.
- As part of the works to extend the cycleway, the railway level crossing at Barnes Road has been upgraded, so now we will complete the work to connect the cycleway from Barnes Reserve to the section under construction between Barnes Road and Main North Road via the railway crossing.
Road closure
- While the road is closed on either side of Barnes Road railway crossing, a detour route will be in place, with signage to redirect traffic around the closure.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
