Details
What are we doing?
- We are renewing and widening a shared path cycleway alongside the rail corridor between Sawyers Arms Road and the Langdons Road rail crossings.
- The construction will include vegetation clearance, asphalt surfacing, and line marking
Where are we working?
Traffic impacts
- Footpath closures will be at both ends of the existing pathway, with detour signage in place for the duration of the project. We will also close off the side gate access to the walkway for Papanui High School.
Detour Route

For people travelling north, the detour route is a right-turn onto Langdons Road, a left-turn onto Sisson Drive and left again onto Sawyers Arms Road. The Northern Line shared path cycleway continues from Sawyers Arms Road rail crossing
- For people travelling south, the detour route is a left-turn onto Sawyers Arms Road, a right-turn onto Sisson Drive and right again onto Langdons Road. The Northern Line shared path cycleway continues from Langdons Road rail crossing.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
