Details

Work is beginning on the remediation of the Linwood Park village area into a green recreational area and community sports field.

The work will involve the following stages:

  • Site clearance and disconnection of remaining services
  • Excavation and removal of the existing asphalt roadway
  • Bulk earthworks to create a re-contoured site
  • Importing topsoil to provide a new sports field surface
  • Installation of drainage
  • Installation of a new irrigation mainline
  • Sowing of grass followed by a grass re-establishment

There will be noise as the contractor moves heavy machinery on to the site in preparation for the work to get underway. We anticipate there will also be on-going noise associated with general construction activity as materials are brought into the site and excavated materials removed. We will be making every effort to minimise the impact of this work as much as possible.

A temporary access way will be made for haulage vehicles to enter the site off Aldwins Road. This will cause some temporary disruption to parking and public access around the perimeter of the site.
