Why |
These works are part of the ongoing efforts to upgrade the paths within Hagley Park. The works here will see this section of pathway widened to 4 meters for improved pedestrian access along Deans Avenue between Riccarton Avenue to Fendalton Road intersections. |

Details
- Sections of this existing footpath will be closed to the public during the construction activities.
- Temporary footpath access will be put in place during the construction period which, the public will be directed and advised to use throughout the duration of this project.
- The site will be fully fenced to create a safe working space for the contractor and to act as a separation barrier to the public.
- Spotters will be on site to safely assist pedestrians around the construction zone during this time.
- There will be heavy machinery operating on this site with construction plant and vehicle movements taking place during the day.
- There will be a moderate increase in noise and activity in this area of North Hagley Park during this construction process.
- The works will be staged in sections to help lessen the impact to the public.
- Site access for construction vehicles will be from Harper Avenue.
- A CCC approved Arborist will be on site at all times to monitor the excavation activities and to advise the contractor during this construction process.
- Multiple pedestrian crossing points will be created along the site so that the public can access the North Hagley Park playing fields from Deans Avenue safely.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
