Road works

The Council has a number of roading projects underway across the city.

Following the earthquake, SCIRT (external link)was established to repair our earthquake damaged roads and underground services.

SCIRT has now completed construction of its programme and the Council is continuing to carry out maintenance and improvements on our city's roads and underground pipes.  We've budgeted over $600 million over the next five years to maintain and improve our services, and have several major projects underway across Christchurch on top of this budget.
