Sumner Lyttelton Corridor projects

The proposed works will include repairing the road and retaining walls, and reducing the risk to road users from geotechnical hazards, including rockfall, cliff collapse and landslides

The works will be undertaken in two phases:

  • Works above the road to reduce risks to road users.
  • Road works by contractors to repair the road, including retaining walls and any necessary drainage.

There are four parts to this corridor programme: Sumner Road reopening (Lyttelton to Evans Pass), Wakefield Avenue, Raekura (Moa Bone Point) and Rapanui (Dean's Head and Clifton Hill).
