The Community Housing Strategy takes its lead from the Council’s overall Housing Policy(external link), which prioritises housing as a human right.
Underpinned with collaborative leadership for a city-wide outlook, the strategy frames community housing as central to the city’s fabric and wellbeing.
Its vision: Community housing as a foundation of housing and wellbeing in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
At its last meeting of the triennium, Christchurch City Council make a number of decisions including on a heritage plan change, temporary improvements to a street in the Central City and a new footpath upgrade programme.
