Christchurch has a network of more than 130km of walking and mountain biking tracks. It is also a city of parks and public gardens.
While some of our older English-style buildings were destroyed, treasured buildings such as the Arts Centre, the former Municipal Chambers and the Canterbury Provincial Council Buildings remain.
We also have heritage buildings, such as Our City Ōtautahi, the former Municipal Chambers, that we value but are expensive to repair.
We plan to delay the repair of the Canterbury Provincial Council Buildings until 2029 as the $204 million cost is considered too great to include in this long term plan.
We are bringing forward funding to:
Request, report and pay for Council services.
Apply for building and resource consents.
Manage your library borrowing.
Receive your rates invoice by email.
Take full control of your Rec and Sport membership.
List your events on What’s On Christchurch
