On Thursday, June 1 the Christchurch City Council will be meeting at 10am. On its agenda is:

  • A report which seeks a Council decision on whether land owned by the Council in Peterborough St (the site of the former convention centre), in Milton St (the City Care site) and in Beresford St should be transferred to Development Christchurch. The land transfer has been proposed so DCL can become a fully operational development company. The Council will hear deputations from a number of submitters on the proposed land transfer before it makes its decision.
  • A report from the Strategic Capability Committee which recommends the Council approve the Christchurch Economic Development Strategy for implementation.
  • A report from the Regulatory Performance Committee which recommends the Council consult the public about replacing the 2008 Marine and River Facilities Bylaw with an updated bylaw. The Marine and River Facilities Bylaw sets out the rules and regulations covering the use of Council structures and facilities that give people access to the water, such as jetties, wharves, boat ramps, slipways, ramps and steps.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council approve the Randall St renewal (from Chrystal St to North Parade) be included in the 2016/17 Streets Renewal Programme as a high priority due to the land drainage recovery project programmed for the street.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council take ownership from the Crown of 17 red-zoned Port Hills properties for a nominal fee of $1.
  • Minutes from the Regulatory Performance and Audit and Risk Management Committees.
