The Central City Business Survey is commissioned by the Christchurch City Council to gauge business owner's views about aspects of the central city in Christchurch.
The online survey was sent to all members of the Central City Business Association in October 2018 and received 28 responses.
Overall, the findings indicate that there are challenges when operating a business in the central city, particularly regarding people's perceptions of the central city and people's safety.
Respondent's were optimistic about future business in the central city, and indicated that these challenges will improve as the rebuild and revitalisation of the central city continues and people become increasingly familiar and comfortable with the central city.
