James GOUGH

Independent Citizens

James GOUGH

My principal place of residence is in the Fendalton Ward area.

You have backed me as your city councillor for the past four terms.
What sets me apart is I am not interested in why things can't happen; I am committed to finding ways they can.
I bring a business lens with a people focus that puts you and our city's future at the heart of decision making.
I am driven to cap the unsustainable rates rises and to enhance your quality of life with a council that is efficient, effective and that works for you. I have never been afraid to go against the grain and I am committed to ensuring Christchurch is a sustainably prosperous, safe, and vibrant city now and for the future.
It has been my privilege and pleasure to represent you and I am seeking your backing once again.
Make your vote count - a vote for James Gough is a vote for the future. www.gough.net.nz

Colin MEURK

Independent

Colin MEURK

My principal place of residence is not in the Fendalton Ward area.

From my life researching and teaching (Canterbury and Lincoln Universities, Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research) and advocating for peoples' connection with nature both locally and globally; I have high hopes for Ōtautahi-Christchurch, a city full of talent, creativity, natural landscapes and huge potential, to be a world leader in achieving ecological, social and cultural well-being.
I've been privileged to serve my community through trusts (Ōtamahua-Quail Island, Travis Wetland, CWEA) and advisory groups, advocating for eco-sanctuaries, urban great walks and restoration projects that weave biodiversity through cities and countryside (Greening Waipara, Ōtākaro-Avon and Ōpāwaho-Heathcote networks, StAC bush). It's humbling to receive awards (Christchurch Civic, NZ Ecological Society, ONZM) on behalf of the many others.
Our city now needs inclusive and courageous leadership that has the vision to tackle the challenges ahead. I'm collaborative, constructive, and pragmatic, and as a former locally schooled resident - I'd be honoured to represent Fendalton.
