Mike DAVIDSONMike DAVIDSON

The Right Choice for Papanui & Christchurch

My principal place of residence is not in the Papanui Ward area.
It is important that you elect a Councillor who will effectively and passionately advocate for your community while at the same time make the right decisions for our city as a whole. I am that person. I am a family man, a manager, a people leader and a decision maker. I have the skills, experience and commitment to be your councillor. I have a track record of standing up for the interests of the community and have been a highly effective and respected Chairperson of the Shirley - Papanui Community Board for the past three years. As your councillor, I will focus on providing the core services of Council while prioritising spending to where it is most needed. Your support will ensure that I can continue to represent the interests of our Community and help ensure the City continues to have stable, progressive and responsible leadership. Vote Mike Davidson.

John STRINGERJohn STRINGER

Papanui First

My principal place of residence is in the Papanui Ward area. I am also standing for Papanui Ward of the Papanui-Innes Community Board.
Christchurch City Ambassador and local businessman John Stringer was raised in Papanui where he raised three sons. He is married and attends St Pauls Anglican Harewood and Northcity church; and attended Elmwood, Heaton and Chch Boys High schools (where he was valedictory speaker in its centennial year) sending his kids to Paparoa St, Heaton, St Bedes and Burnside High schools. He has an MA from Victoria and worked in parliament for many years. He operates a local security company as well as a local food business; is involved in the High Court; has coached local Christchurch kids' rugby; and is involved in the Canterbury arts scene.
I want to bring some objectivity and balance to Council; we have few business people on the current Council team. We have some good people there now; but things are tough and fresh ideas and new faces around the table will benefit Christchurch.

Independent

My principal place of residence is in the Papanui Ward of the Papanui-Innes Community Board area.
I live in Redwood with my wife Andrea and three children. Since 2011 I have worked at Te Ora Hou Ōtautahi, a youth and community development organisation with a long history in Papanui. I manage our school attendance service, supporting children, whānau/families, and schools. Previously I worked for Tait Communications in marketing management, and have volunteered with the Papanui Youth Development Trust. I have served on boards including the Papanui Baptist Freedom Trust, Pillars, and the Casebrook Intermediate School Board of Trustees (two years as chair). I am a previous Vodafone Foundation World of Difference recipient, working on a transitional youth employment project. I have completed a Canterbury University course for leaders in the community sector, and participated in Shirley-Papanui community leadership forums. I value a connected community that cares for all of its members, and am passionate about making a contribution through our Papanui-Innes Community Board.

Nathan MCCLUSKEYNathan MCCLUSKEY

The People’s Choice

My principal place of residence is in the Papanui Ward of the Papanui-Innes Community Board area.
Hi, I'm Nathan McCluskey and for those of you who don't already know me, I'm standing for The People's Choice for the Papanui Community Board.
I am Christchurch born and bred and I bleed red and black.
Having grown up and gone to school in the Papanui Ward area, I'm strongly dedicated to its future just as I am committed to its past. I currently work as a union convener and I'm concerned about the future of our city as a place to both live and work. As the father of six boys, I'm passionate about the kind of future I want for all of us, but especially for those who will follow. I'm concerned that the legacy of local government without a strong presence of The People's Choice will result in irrevocable asset sales, backroom deals and unsustainable and unneccesary spending. Your voice will be heard by voting McCluskey.

Independent

My principal place of residence is in the Papanui Ward of the Papanui-Innes Community Board area.
Having completed one term on the Shirley/Papanui Community Board, I am fully committed to continuing as a strong, independent advocate for you. I understand that the key to being a successful elected representative is keeping in touch with and communicating openly and honestly with you.
Growing up in St Albans and now raising a young family in Redwood gives me passion to see the best brought out in our community. My priorities include traffic congestion issues, pedestrian and cycle safety especially around schools, providing suitable community facilities, and increasing community engagement throughout planning and decision-making.
My involvement in local sporting, music and family-related groups, as well as being Deputy Chair of Keep Christchurch Beautiful gives me an insight into our community's potential. This reinforces my desire to continue putting my skills to work to ensure our Papanui ward is a safe and inspiring place to live, work and raise families.

Mai te Iwi, Mote Iwi - From the People for the People
My priority will always be local people and community most affected in decision-making processes. I will vote for a fiscally responsible Community board, support efforts for new innovative community lead projects and not compromise our natural environment, local culture and unique community.
I have a history of community service, youthful energy and practical approach to all that I do.
