To improve safety and provide consistency across the roading network in Banks Peninsula, we are proposing speed limit changes on a number of roads .

Consultation has now closed. People were able to provide feedback from 11 October to 7 November 2018.

Meeting details and decision making process

For our reporting we have divided the area in to meeting 1: The Inner Harbour, Gebbies Pass and Gebbies valley and meeting 2: Little River, Akaroa and the Bays. A report will be presented to the Community Board at two separate meetings.

Meeting 1

Speed limit review

To improve safety and provide consistency across the roading network in Banks Peninsula, we are proposing speed limit changes on a number of roads, taking into account the safe and appropriate speed.The roads have been divided into areas and we welcome your feedback on any or all of the roads identified for a speed limit change. Once consultation has closed, the Banks Peninsula Community Board will receive a staff report including consultation feedback, and then make their recommendation to Council.

 Tikao BaySetting speed limits

The Christchurch City Council's Traffic and Parking Bylaw 2017 allows Council to set and change speed limits on roads within Christchurch in accordance with the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017.
