Three suitable options for the trials have been selected based on feedback during community consultation last year.
The following trials have been selected and will be implemented from Monday 1 March.
- Trial 1: From Monday 1 March for 4 weeks - left in, left out only of Francis Avenue (both sections) at Westminster Street.
- Trial 2: From Monday 29 March for 2 weeks - cul-de-sac at Westminster Street (southern entry only).
- Trial 3: From Monday 12 April for 2 weeks - mid-block (midway) cul-de-sac between numbers 43 and 46 Francis Avenue.
During the trials, we will continually monitor traffic levels and travel behaviour on Francis Avenue. We will also monitor the surrounding streets and may make adjustments to the layouts.
After the trial period, we will come back out and consult on the preferred option. We will then provide the community with an update on the outcomes of the consultation and prepare a report with recommendations for a permanent solution. The preferred trial option will remain in place during the evaluation and reporting process.
