Tūranga - Your new central library
Due for completion later this year, Tūranga(external link) will occupy a prominent site bounded by Gloucester Street, Colombo Street and Cathedral Square. You can find out more and watch a timelapse video of the build on the Christchurch City Libraries webpage(external link).
At nearly 10,000 square metres, Tūranga will be the largest public library(external link) in the South Island. It is part of a network of 19 community, digital, and mobile libraries, which last year hosted 3.7 million visits and issued almost 4.5 million items.
