The purpose of this group is to promote communication and to provide access to community opinions, observations and activities regarding the Christchurch wastewater treatment plant ocean outfall operation.
Condition 36 of resource consent CRC051724(external link) sets out the requirements for the community liaison group, covering the content of the meeting, the time schedule and who the list of invited parties are.
The liaison group consists of representatives of the following:
- Ngāi Tahu
- Ngāi Tūāhuriri
- Local community groups
- Department of Conservation
- Community and Public Health
- Environment Canterbury.
