For those who are new to spin, who would like to step up and pedal hard. You’ll get a good workout while learning different aspects of spin training, including bike set up, technique, use of resistance, riding positions and the Body Bike App.

COVID-19 updates

All Recreation and Sport Centres are open under Alert Level 2. We’ll be operating at reduced capacity and with increased safety measures. 

Bookings are essential for group fitness, Tumbletimes, pickleball and adult swimming lessons. Secure your spot. No booking is required to use the pool and fitness centre. 

All Swimsmart lessons will be back up and running under Alert Level 2. The normal booking process applies for pre-school gymnastics and the Southern Centre. 

Contact tracing will be in place and everyone must sign in, either with the Covid Tracer app or manually using the slips provided. It’s also mandatory to wear a mask indoors where people gather publicly and please ensure to wear a mask to and from your activity. You are not required to wear one whilst exercising or whilst in the pool.

Sessions

  • Week 1 – bike set up, basic riding positions, flat and moderate hill tracks
  • Week 2 – recap week 1, introducing speed and strength tracks
  • Week 3 – recap week 2, introducing how to use the app, jumps, hovers and reverse
  • Week 4 – normal class intensity.

Class duration: 50 minutes – same as a normal Spin class
