This already popular loop track is the newest addition to the Council's tracks.
Start: Mid section of the Rapaki Track near Cattle Yards.
Finish: Same as the starting point.
Access: Either end of the Rapaki Track.
Signage: At the start and throughout.
Description: From the reserve entrance sign, the track climbs a 4WD track before leading onto a single track. Meander slowly uphill through rocky terrain before a faster, undulating section leads into a flowing, fun descent.
The track then contours across the northern aspect of the Reserve, offering stellar views across the city and towards the Southern Alps.
The final section is on a fast gravel surface, which brings riders back to a point where it’s easy to do another loop or head back out onto Rapaki Track.
