Description |
Enjoy native restoration plantings as you follow the Pūharakekenui-Styx River through this reserve. If you take a small detour following a foot trail to the river you can see a lovely natural waipuna (spring). At the Marshlands end, walk through Kaputahi Community Orchard(external link) to reach Marshlands Road. Dedicated volunteers tend to a large number of fruit trees and offer pruning workshops and working bees for those keen to get involved. If you would like a longer walk, carefully cross Marshlands Road to find the entrance to the Styx Loop Conservation Park Track, about 20 metres to the right. This track is a 2 km out-and-back walk along the river. |
