Bowenvale Valley to Summit Road, returning via Victoria Park

A great walk with plenty of variety and sweeping views over the Canterbury Plains.

Start: The car park at the end of Bowenvale Avenue, Cashmere.

Finish: Bowenvale carpark, Summit Road.

Time: 1 hour.

Toilets: Located at Victoria Park.

Dogs: Must  be kept on a leash.

Description:

This walk starts at the end of Bowenvale Avenue where there is plenty of parking. The track starts off as a vehicle track heading up the valley - watch out for mountain bikers along this section.

Further up the valley, the walking track winds its way through open tussock where it finishes in Bowenvale carpark on Summit Road.

Return the same way or create a circuit via Cedrics, Thomsons, and Latters Spur Tracks - there are some stunning views out over the Canterbury Plains all the way to the Southern Alps and of Pegasus Bay out to the Kaikoura Ranges on a clear day.
