Description

The track begins 200m from the end of Alymer’s Valley Road and is marked with orange-topped poles.

Climb steeply on the true right of the valley, in and out of the bush, before climbing out of the valley and crossing an open paddock. Cross the stile and climb to below the prominent crag of Ōteauheke/Brasenose.

Join a 4WD track below the pine block that leads to the Misty Peaks shared-use track.

You could also use this track as part of a circuit from Akaroa township for a longer day out (approximately four to seven hours). 

During winter this track can be wet and slippery so please proceed with caution.
