Christchurch’s most enchanting tradition!

Led by the spectacular Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, the YES Power Sparks 2020 programme is packed with creative cultural collaborations, traditional classics, modern day favourites and a few fun surprises in between. 

Your evening will finish with a unique and truly epic fireworks display, produced by the talented Firework Professionals.

Sit back, relax, and watch the stage and sky burst with colour and culture in North Hagley Park.

Bring a picnic or grab dinner from one of the delicious food trucks at the event.

If wet, YES Power Sparks will be postponed to Sunday 16 February 2020.

This is a smoke-free event.

Free Park and Ride

We’re making it easy for you, to get to and from YES Power Sparks, with FREE buses!
Buses will be running to North Hagley Park from Eastgate Mall (main car park bus stop on Cranley Street) and University of Canterbury (Clyde Road car park) between 5pm – 8.30pm on Saturday 15 February. Parking will be available in Eastgate Mall and University of Canterbury car parks.

After Sparks, buses heading back to Eastgate Mall and University of Canterbury will depart from Park Terrace (across from Peterborough Street) from 10pm onwards. The last bus will depart at 10.15pm approx. For more information on bus timetables visit MetroInfo.

Mobility Parking

Mobility parking will be on Chester Street West (off Park Terrace). A mobility pass must be visible to gain access.

Biking or scootering

Bike stands will be in Hagley Park, opposite the roundabout over the Armagh Street Bridge.
Scooter parking is on Park Terrance across from Armagh Bridge, follow the info in your scooter app for details.

Driving

There are thousands of car parks available in the central city find one using our interactive map.
To access one of five multi-level parking buildings, drive in using the one-way streets and look out for the blue ‘P’ parking signs.
Drop-off point is on Park Terrace between Kilmore and Armagh Streets (outside Cathedral Grammar).
The Botanic Gardens Armagh street car park will be closed to incoming traffic from 3pm and closed to all traffic from 5pm.
