Whetu Harakeke Sessions

Join Lisa Harding and Corabelle Summerton from the Kahu Collective and learn how to work with harakeke to create a whetū (star).

This is a fun hands-on activity for the tamariki to celebrate Matariki. Join Lisa Harding from the Kahu Collective in the Great Hall to learn how to work with harakeke (flax) to create a whetū (star) for Matariki.

Ideal for ages 8-12.

This event is part of Matariki 2024, where we're celebrating Matariki with talented artists from Ōtautahi and beyond. Bring your friends and whānau to Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre (17 - 30 Pipiri June) for music, exhibitions, kapa haka, wānanga (workshops), kai, light installations, special mākete and much more.
