We Stand Here

This exhibition is a culmination of work from Place In Time: The Christchurch Documentary Project that documented the people and physical environment of communities during a time of unprecedented change.

We Stand Here – Celebrating five years of the Christchurch documentary.  A thought-provoking exhibition capturing everyday life in Ōtautahi over a period of remarkable change.

Over the course of five years, over 1500 images were made by University of Canterbury internship students.

Come and be moved by a selection of images curated by Senior Lecturer and Project Director, Tim Veling, that showcase often overlooked moments of community life.

Te Pito Huarewa / Southbase Gallery, Tūranga, Tuakiri / Identity, Level 2.
