War Torn: Personal stories from a time of war

A series of three talks sharing different perspectives and experiences from during a time of war.

Come along and hear talks from those who have researched the voices experiencing war.

Sarah Johnston, Voices of War Project

15 October, 10.30am to 11.30am: Sarah has been researching and collating audio recordings from the front line and will share her findings with us.

Margaret Lovell-Smith, Pacifists at Time of War

17 October, 10am to11am: Margaret is a local historian who has spent much time researching the lives and work of those who made a stand against war. This is their story.

Dr Simon Pollard, Alison's Diary

18 October, 1pm to 2pm: Alison’s Diary is a family heirloom and a deeply personal account of a soldier in World War 2. At times incredibly detailed, and beautifully illustrated, it offers a unique insight into what life was like on the front line.
