The Visitors Book

Explore Kinsey’s Den this October: witness wet plate photography, hear Antarctic tales, and leave your mark in The Visitors Book.

Step into the heart of Antarctic legacy through a series of intimate, immersive gatherings held in Kinsey’s Den and Darkroom.

Each Sunday offers a unique experience—inviting you to explore the pages of history, witness the alchemy of 19th-century photography, and hear stories that span from the Heroic Age to today.

Taking place at the historically significant Kinsey's Cottage, once the den and darkroom of Sir Joseph Kinsey, this event promises a rich, immersive experience. Participants will gain exclusive access to Kinsey's darkroom, standing in the same space as Herbert Ponting, expedition photographer for Scott.
