This is an opportunity to take part in a fun event for a great cause, running or walking amongst the vines and fruit of the Donaldson family estate. Traverse hills, wind through valleys and make your way between the pre-harvest vines, looking behind the scenes of Pegasus Bay Winery’s vineyard.

Participants will have the choice of a 6km, 10km, and new half marathon course. All three options will start on the front lawns of Pegasus Bay Winery and parking will be provided nearby. All options can be either run or walked, but please note the Half Marathon course has a maximum cut-off time of 4 hours.

Entertainment and food

After the event, there will be live music to enjoy during the afternoon. Participants are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the Pegasus Bay lawns after the event.

There will also be some other catering options on-site. Wine and beer will be available to purchase. Please note it is not permitted to bring your own alcohol to this event. The bottle of wine included in the entry fee is to take away only and cannot be consumed on the premises.

Ivan Donaldson and his wife Christine are co-owners of Pegasus Bay Vineyards and Winery. The Vine Run is Ivan’s brainchild. Pun intended, as proceeds from the event will go to the New Zealand Brain Research Institute, an organisation that Ivan has had a long association with.

Ivan practiced in Christchurch as a neurologist for over 30 years and has been a member of the Institute’s board of directors since its inception. The Institute focuses on research to understand more about neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Multiple Sclerosis. Find out more about the great work they do at www.nzbri.org.
