Kate Bush, one of the most unique, authentic songwriters and alternative entertainers of last century. Going Bush: A Kate Bush Tribute will fulfil any desires of the hardcore, long time Kate Bush worshipper as well as any newcomers to her legacy. After sellout shows in 2023, Charlotte Crone and the Going Bush band will conjure songs such as ‘Running up that Hill’, ‘Babooshka’ and ‘Wuthering Heights’ as well as some lesser-known personal favourites. Come and get lost in a magical afternoon of carefully selected back Katealogue among the lush surrounds of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens Archery Lawn. Keyboardist John Sanchez-Lloyd has, over the years, played in numerous bands including Tui Award winners The Coalrangers. He has backed a variety of performers including rockabilly artist Rosie Flores, blues singer Ruby Wilson as well as support for John Hammond, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Blind Boy Paxton and Darren Watson. His session work has seen him contribute to recordings by many NZ artists including The Eastern, Graham Wardrop, Tiny Lies and The Gypsy Pickers. Guitarist Phil Doublet is a multi-award-winning musician and is no stranger to the music scene. As a multi-instrumentalist and working from his home base in Christchurch, he is sought after as a session player for recording projects in Europe, U.S.A, Australia and New Zealand. Phil is a staunch advocate for original music and has produced five albums which have received accolades, including finalist for NZ Best Country Album of the Year 2017. Kelly Horgan is a New Zealand singer-songwriter best known as the frontman and principal songwriter of Heavy Jones Trio, a Christchurch-based band that carved out a distinctive space in Aotearoa’s pop-rock scene during the early 2000s. A natural storyteller, Horgan writes and performs with honesty and melodic clarity, weaving everyday experiences, relationships, and emotional truths into songs that feel both intimate and universal. His music blends thoughtful lyricism with catchy guitar-driven hooks, drawing comparisons to the laid-back yet deeply reflective style of artists like Crowded House and Dave Dobbyn. With Heavy Jones Trio, Horgan released an acclaimed self-titled EP (2000) and the full-length album Nobody Town (2005). Tracks such as Staring at the Ocean received significant commercial radio airplay and support from NZ On Air, introducing Horgan’s songwriting to a national audience. Over the years, Horgan has become known for his heartfelt live performances, both solo and with Heavy Jones Trio, where his ability to connect with listeners through honest storytelling and warm, expressive vocals stands out. His work continues to resonate with those who value melodic pop-rock grounded in New Zealand identity and spirit.
