Spotlight on Sullivan Park

Join Dr Mike Dickison at Sullivan Park (Richmond red zone) to find night flyers and cryptic critters as part of the City Nature Challenge.

The red zone after nightfall is a dark and eerie world that comes alive with nocturnal activity. Cross the Medway Bridge to explore the red zone in a new light.

Consulting Wikipedian and entomologist Dr Mike Dickison will set up light traps to attract moths and ranger Zane will lead an expedition to spotlight the waterways.

Bring torches and your camera or phones loaded up with the iNaturalist app to contribute any findings to the City Nature Challenge. The app also takes sound recordings so we might hear something wild and wonderful too!

Dress for the cold and with walking shoes and bring a camp chair, your own cup and a gold coin for hot chocolate.

Please email us to let us know you are coming.
