Sparks!

One of Christchurch’s most loved events, Sparks, is back! Featuring the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and dazzling fireworks, you won't want to miss it.

One of Christchurch’s most loved events is returning to North Hagley Park after a one-year hiatus.

The classical music extravaganza with popular conductor David Kay is making a return appearance with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. To finish, the night will end with a dazzling fireworks display.

This year's theme is 'travelling through the ages'. We encourage you to plan a picnic, grab a rug and come with your friends and whānau to enjoy traditional classics, modern-day favourites and a few surprises in between.

No picnic, no problem! A large variety of food and drink providers will be able onsite for you to enjoy.

  • Gates open at 3.30pm
  • Pre-show starts at 6.30pm
  • 7.15pm main show starts
  • 9.30pm fireworks start

A shuttle service will run every 15 minutes between 4 and 6.30pm, leaving from the Bus Exchange (Lichfield Street side) and dropping people off outside Christ's College (Rolleston Avenue).

We can't wait to see you all there!

Vaccine certificates are required to attend this event for anyone aged over 12 years and three months.

Bag checks will also be carried out to stop any glass from entering the site.

Please leave all pets at home. Image not found
