Snippets of our history by bike

Explore Ōtāutahi Christchurch's inner-city histories on a bike ride.

We will cycle to six different destinations, learning more at each stop. The riding is at a gentle pace so you have time to take in your surroundings.

Your guide, Defyd Williams, is an experienced teacher and leader in the Social Sciences and Histories curriculum areas. Defyd supports the exploration of our shared hītori and brings it to life for learners of all backgrounds.

There is an optional coffee stop where you can continue the discussion (bring cash or an EFTPOS card).

Meeting point: Avon Loop - small Red Zone park, accessible from Oxford Terrace (off Barbadoes) and Kilmore Street (opposite Pomeroys).
