Learn to play African drums in a drum circle. We start with basic techniques and some fun rhythm games, and you'll be drumming together as a group.

It’s good for the brain, a great chance to work as a collective, and so much fun!
Caregivers are encouraged to book a ticket to participate alongside their child and have some fun together. The first session is especially created for 5- 10-year-olds and their caregivers to play together (caregiver must be present during the session for 5-8 yr olds) and the second session is for older children.
This workshop is led by Tamara Smith. Tamara is a trained high school teacher, as well as a renowned flautist, percussionist, composer, dancer, and band leader of world-music collective Mundi. Tamara has taught at high schools in New Zealand and the UK. She has been a music specialist to schools in Canterbury, and worked alongside renowned children’s musical play teacher Julie Wylie here in Christchurch.
