SCAPE Season 2020

SCAPE is back for another season! The programme will be linked to an in-depth art, learning, and wellbeing offering promoted online with a base at Tūranga, our central city library.

SCAPE will present a strong Ōtautahi Christchurch and Aotearoa New Zealand focused artists’ programme, with eight new temporary artworks for presentation over an extended season.

The programme will be linked to an in-depth art, learning, and wellbeing offering promoted on-line with a base at Tūranga, our central city library.

Jamie Hanton, SCAPE’s new Managing Curator, is finalising his selection for our exhibition under the theme 'Secrets and Lies'. As an outdoor event we can continue to plan with confidence.

Our SCAPE Public Art Walkway will offer a compact, inner-city, safe, walkable route for exploring and experiencing fourteen legacy, and eight new public artworks. We invite locals and visitors from all over New Zealand to art explore the city.

In addition to our art, learning, and wellbeing offering, we recently opened our RE:ACTIVATE Aspiring Artists competition to all Ōtautahi Christchurch young people. As a result of this competition, young artists – with the support of local businesses – will develop original artworks for installation in the central city in spring.
