Half price admission at Quake City

Learn about the science behind earthquakes, play with the liquefaction simulator and understand how streets were buried and buildings sunk.

During the April school holidays (17 April to 2 May 2021) paid-for entry to Quake City is half price.

With free entry for accompanied children under 15 years, Quake City is a fascinating and affordable outing for all the family.

Use LEGO to design new buildings for Christchurch.

Try to solve the puzzles on the activity sheet and expend some energy jumping on the spot to create a mini-quake for the seismograph to read.

Quake City is Canterbury Museum’s special exhibition about the earthquakes, located at 299 Durham Street North.

See the Quake City website for more information about what to see and do at the exhibition.

This offer is only available from Saturday, 17 April to Sunday 2 May 2021: Adults entry is $10, students and seniors $8, unaccompanied children $4.

Children under 15 years are free at Quake City.
