Guided CHCH 360 Trail Walk

The first half of a guided walk on the Christchurch 360 Trail.

Fitness required: Experienced
Grade: Medium - Mixed Terrain
Distance: Approximately 12km each day for 6 days.

Immerse yourself in Christchurch’s rich natural and cultural history with the first leg of the guided CHCH 360 Trail Walk.

Starting at the Gondola and finishing at the Groynes, this walk will take you through stunning volcanic landscapes, diverse wetlands, and native bush teeming with birdlife. Along the way, we will share our knowledge about the city’s geological formation, its cultural significance to Ngāi Tahu, and how it has evolved into the vibrant city we know today.

Each day, we will use a shuttle to return everybody to the starting point of that day's walk. There will be a pre-walk briefing and intro on the evening of Tuesday April 15 (venue will be advised to participants).

The second leg will be scheduled in the spring when we will complete the circle by walking from Clearwater around the western half of the Chch360 Trail, finishing at the Gondola.

Participants and their dependents (children must be supervised) must take full responsibility for their safety, health, and equipment while navigating varied terrain, wearing sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing, and carrying essential supplies, including water, food, and sun protection.

Meet at Gondola Base Station, 10 Bridle Path Road.

No postponement day unless extreme weather events.

No dogs, please.
