Frocks on Bikes – Kate Sheppard tour and tea

Cycle to historic sites significant to Kate Sheppard on the anniversary of women voting for the first time in 1893.

Join us for a fascinating cycling tour of Kate Sheppard’s life and times around the historic sites in Ōtautahi Christchurch where she spent her time.

Visit her gravesite at Addington Cemetery before heading out to her former home, Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House on Clyde Road to enjoy Devonshire tea in the garden.

The ride is open to everyone. Period costume and bicycles welcome. 

The 1.5-hour cycle ride with commentary will start in the city and finish in Ilam. Full details will be provided to ticket holders.

Booking in advance is essential, closing 11.59pm Thursday 25 November. Only 30 tickets are available.

The event is being organised and run in partnership with Friends on Bikes and Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House.
