Discover Cockayne Reserve

A guided exploration of Cockayne Reserve with The Green Lab, BOEE and CCC rangers in association with the City Nature Challenge.

A site of ecological significance, one of the few remaining natural fragments of riparian wetland vegetation along the Ōtākaro- Avon River corridor. Come and learn about the unique plants, insects and birds that can be found here. 

Find out about water quality testing and take a closer look at aquatic invertebrates with The Brighton Observatory of Environment and Economics.

Regional parks Ranger Robbie will lead a walk and talk to identify the plants and birds that make this reserve home. Green Lab will be leading art engagement workshops.
