Dame Ngaio Marsh was a celebrated writer of crime fiction, talented artist and successful theatre director.

Her creative life took her from the windswept tussocks of the Port Hills to England, and to an audience with the Queen. She was the original influencer and mentor.

Enjoy a multimedia event using diaries, notes, photos, footage, audio and excerpts from Ngaio's life, looking at the world through her eyes.

The Ngaio Marsh House and Heritage Trust also invites you to contribute to our memory book – share your memories of Ngaio Marsh small or large – we are keen to hear them.

This exhibition is part of a wider series of events related to one of Canterbury's most famous authors, see also:
