RENT is The Court Theatre’s summer musical and this vibrant show is set in 1990s New York, against a background of gentrification, poverty and the AIDS crisis.

In RENT, four of the main characters are living with HIV and some have progressed to AIDS which, at the time, was a death sentence. Thankfully, if treated, that is not the case today.

The Court Theatre invites you to attend an open discussion about HIV and AIDS in 2020s New Zealand, to learn what has changed since the time of RENT, and what may be the same.

Panellists sharing their knowledge will include Grant from Positive Speakers Bureau and Peter Ford and Juliet Crew from Burnett Foundation Aotearoa; Facilitated by Blaise Clotworthy from Burnett Foundation Aotearoa.

Questions from the audience (or submitted in advance via Messenger) are welcome and encouraged on the evening.

This is a free event and no registration is required. You do not have to be attending any Court Theatre show in order to attend this event.

If you would like to support Burnett Foundation Aotearoa or Positive Speakers Bureau, we encourage you to visit them online.
