The Christchurch City Mission is bringing Christmas to the city centre with a 10-metre-steel Christmas tree near the Bridge of Remembrance. It's a gift to thank everyone for support our work over the year.

The tree will be covered with thousands of stars and lights to represent all the people a year the City Mission helps in one way or another.

The Christmas in the City launch on Saturday 28 November begins at 11am with a family parade starting from Margaret Mahy Playground. Follow Santa as he punts to the Bridge of Rememberance and enjoy plenty of festive entertainment along the way!

Jason Gunn is hosting the launch at noon and the party includes bands, choirs, face painting, costume competitions, giveaways, market stalls and an appearance by Father Christmas.

We are so excited for you to join us this Christmas in the City.
