Ōtautahi Christchurch is proud of its Antarctic gateway status. Join this guided walk taking in several Antarctic points of interest to learn about our connections with the early Antarctic explorers. Discover how our gateway city has hosted National Antarctic Programmes delivering scientific research for over 60 years in the Ross Sea region.
Participants and their dependents (children must be supervised) must take full responsibility for their safety, health, and equipment while navigating varied terrain across public and private routes, wearing sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing, and carrying essential supplies, including water, food, and sun protection.
