Organising a street party is a great way to get to know all the neighbours living in your street.
Having your neighbourhood party on the street is a fun way to get people together.
If your street won’t work out consider someone’s yard, a local park, or a community facility.
Even small events can take a lot of work. Be sure to put together a group of people to help organise the party.
Activity ideas can include:
Everyone should already know about the event, but some may appreciate the reminder so they can move vehicles before the closure.
Did you have a good time? Chat with your neighbours to see how what they thought and email us at info@ccc.govt.nz to let us know how it went.
Be sure to take some pictures that you can share with the Council so we can continue to promote street parties around the city.
Your street may be eligible for a street party if it is located on a local road, shown below in blue. This excludes roads with a permanent speed limit over 55km/h.
