Proposed Temporary Road Closures for Electric Avenue Music Festival and Armageddon Expo

The Council has received applications for the temporary closures of the following roads, for the following events, on the dates and times shown below.

Electric Avenue Music Festival

Roads proposed to be closed:

  • Armagh Street, between Cranmer Square West and Park Terrace
  • Park Terrace, between Armagh Street and Chester Street West
  • Park Terrace, between Bealey Avenue and Dorset Street
  • Rolleston Avenue, between Armagh Street and Gloucester Street

Proposed period of closures:

  • From 9pm to 11.59pm Saturday 26 February 2022

Armageddon Expo

Roads proposed to be closed:

  • Cathedral Square, between Colombo Street and Worcester Street

Proposed period of closure:

  • From 6am Saturday 26 March 2022 to 6pm Sunday 27 March 2022

These closures are proposed to be made under paragraph 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974. The proposed closures will apply to all vehicular traffic with the exception of emergency service vehicles, and vehicles directly involved with the events.

No resident access will be available during the period of these proposed closures.

Any person who wishes to object to the proposed closure may do so in writing to the Council Secretary, Christchurch City Council, PO Box 73016, Christchurch, no later than 9.00am Monday 29 November 2021.
