Council’s financial outlook improves

International credit rating agency Standard and Poor’s has reaffirmed Christchurch City Council’s financial rating at A+ and improved its outlook from stable to positive.

Christchurch City Council’s Head of Financial Management Diane Brandish says, “This is a good outcome for the Council. The rating shows confidence in our Council’s 2018-28 Long Term Plan and the city’s outlook.”

“We’ve worked hard since the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 to manage limited funding in a way that allows the city to progress while also being financially prudent,” Ms Brandish says.
