The Christchurch City Council is meeting on Thursday 8 November at 9.30am. The main items on the agenda for the public part of the meeting are:

  • A report from the Council’s Chief Executive outlining the organisation’s performance in October.
  • A report from the Finance and Performance Committee on the accounting treatment implications of capitalising the Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust.
  • A report from the Social, Community Development and Housing Committee which recommends the Council approve a loan of up to $30 million to the Ōtautahi Houisng Trust so it can develop at least 130 new social housing units. 
  • A report which recommends the Council approve the amended terms of reference of the International Relations Working Group.
  • A Hearings Panel report which recommends the Council amend the 2016 Freedom Camping Bylaw to prohibit freedom camping in all but one area of the Akaroa township from 1 December 2018.
  • A report recommending the Council approve the Central City Council Action Plan, which is aimed at putting in place initiatives to encourage more people back into the central city.
