This memorial, also known as the Cenotaph, is in Cathedral Square.
The Citizens' War Memorial commemorates those lost in the Great War (1914-1918) and was unveiled in 1937. It was sculpted by William Trethewey, and consists of a 15-metre high cross surrounded by six allegorical bronze figures set on a Portland stone plinth.
