All cultures are welcomed and celebrated at this free annual event which features music, dance, food and arts and crafts from more than 80 cultures from around the globe.

Cultural groups from across Christchurch appreciate this annual event as opportunity to show off their culture to the rest of the community to celebrate their identity and culture through different forms. 

The festival features modern to traditional stage performances, singing, dancing and food:

The Council invites all interested non-profit community and cultural groups to register to be part of this great event to celebrate the colourful diversity of our community. 

Groups can participate in various ways including stage performances, selling unique cultural food or art or craft items, information display about your culture or storytelling workshops.

Culture Galore is part of the Garden City SummerTimes programme and is brought to you with the support of the Christchurch City Council and its Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood and Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Boards.  

Please note:

  • This event is not open to commercial food vendors
  • We are not accepting any further food stalls registrations unless you do not require power or are using a gas BBQ.
