The Enliven Places rates incentive encourages property owners in the central city and suburban centres to support temporary use of vacant spaces with short to medium term projects.
Do you have a vacant space you’d like to see activated?
Get in touch with Life in Vacant Spaces (LiVS) to find out more about the rates incentive for property owners.
Life in Vacant Spaces provides a comprehensive brokerage service for property owners and project partners, and can simplify matching temporary projects to spaces. When spaces are matched with projects, property owners may be eligible for the rates incentive.
If you’re a property owner with a vacant interior or exterior site, LiVS can talk you through the rates incentive.
The rates incentive can credit up to $5,000 in a 12-month period to the rates account for the property. Properties can receive a cumulative $15,000 over the course of the temporary project.
This credit will apply only to the Council component of the rates and is proportional based on the area used for the project.
This credit cannot be exchanged for cash and is credited to the account in arrears and in quarterly instalments.
Eligible temporary projects include those supported by the Enliven Places Projects Fund.
